Book your wedding today!

Arrange a visit.

Dale Farm is set in the beautiful Yorkshire Wolds with spectacular views towards the North Yorkshire coastline and provides a perfect location for a relaxed, informal, weekend-long ‘festival’ style wedding with family and friends. Our barn, situated in a courtyard setting, will be the venue for your wedding and a stunning on site pub ‘The Yorkshireman’ will also be open throughout the day.

The farm is a ‘DIY’ venue; a blank canvas which gives you complete freedom to choose your own suppliers, including catering, so your wedding will be truly unique and personal.

Please get in touch if you would like more information or to arrange a visit
When Can I get Married?

We are primarily a holiday business so don’t host weddings during school holidays or bank holiday weekends. Otherwise you can get married anytime.

How many people can you accommodate?

The Barn accommodates up to 100 day guests. We can sleep up to 28 people in our holiday accommodation. Guests can access the accommodation from 4.00pm and should leave by 11.00am. See our ‘Visit’ page for more information on our accommodation.

How much does a Dale Farm wedding cost?

From September 2023 the price of a Dale Farm wedding is £8,000

What does the price include?

Exclusive use of the site from noon on the day before the wedding to noon on the day after.
All our accommodation for 2 nights including breakfast for up to 28 guests
Fully staffed, licensed and reasonably priced cash bar ‘The Yorkshireman’ open until midnight

What about drinks?

We offer a full drinks service…this includes welcome drinks, table and toast drinks. We do not allow other drinks suppliers but you will find our prices very reasonable – please ask for a quote. We don’t offer a corkage option.

Can my guests pay for their own accommodation?

Yes of course. Some couples treat their guests, some recharge the costs and some ask guests to pay for their accommodation instead of buying a wedding present. We can advise on what to charge.

What deposit do I have to pay when I confirm a date?

50% non-refundable deposit to be paid on booking. The remaining 50% is due 6 weeks before the event. We also ask for a £300 bond which is fully refundable when you have cleared the site back to its original condition including removal of all litter.

Are you licensed for civil ceremonies?

We are not currently licensed for civil ceremonies, therefore you will need to take care of the ‘official bits’ elsewhere i.e. a Registry Office or Church.

Can I have a wedding blessing?

Yes you can have a wedding blessing at our venue. You can also have a Humanist Wedding Ceremony. Check out humanism.org.uk

What if the weather is bad?

The barn can be made weatherproof by your marquee supplier (you will not need a full marquee). They will also have effective heaters.

Can you recommend a marquee supplier?

We recommend Florida Marquees who have worked with us before and know the site well. You will not need a full marquee, just walls, and their prices are very reasonable.

When can the marquee company erect/remove the marquee?

We will liaise with the marquee company about that. We recommend Florida Marquees who have worked with us before and know the site well.

Is there a space for our Caterer?

We have loads of space on site but no catering kitchen so you will need a ‘mobile’ caterer – we can discuss this with your Catering Company. We can give you a list of people we have worked with before.

What's for breakfast?

We serve our famous Dale Farm breakfast butties plus hot and cold drinks (al fresco) both mornings for people staying on site.

Can we decorate the farm?

Yes, you are allowed to decorate the farm the day before the wedding. All belongings/decorations should be removed from the farm the day after your wedding (or taken down and stored in our barn for collection by your suppliers.) All we ask is that you leave the farm as you found it.

What are the rules about music?

The use of amplified music is permitted up to 11pm and non amplified music is permitted after that. All non residents should have left the site by 12.30 a.m.

What about the exciting stuff?

Chinese lanterns are not allowed on the farm as they can endanger crops and wildlife. Fireworks (professional not DIY!) are permitted at certain times of the year…please ask.

We have an outdoor fire pit which we can light on summer evenings.

You can have candles, fairy lights and LED tea lights but no hay or straw bales due to fire hazard.

We are happy for you to have confetti but ask that it is biodegradable; dried rose petals are lovely and easy to get hold of.

And absolutely no glitter!

What about the boring stuff?

We supply mobile toilets. Your marquee supplier will be able to supply heaters, flooring and tables and chairs. There is water and ample electricity supply available on site at no extra charge. The barn has lighting.

Do you supply staff?

We will be on site for the whole 2 days ensuring everything runs smoothly. Your catering company will supply staff to clear up, cook and serve the food etc.

Do you have public liability insurance?

We do hold public liability insurance; however we also strongly recommend you take out your own wedding insurance to cover every eventuality. All outside services used must supply a public liability insurance certificate.

Do you allow camping and caravans?

No we don’t have facilities for camping and caravans but Saxdale House (the next farm but one up the road and walking distance) has a lovely site. See saxdalehousefarm.co.uk

Do you have a Bridal Suite?

The Summerhouse and Treehouse make great bridal suites with a difference!

What about dogs?

Much as we love them we strongly advise against bringing your dog to stay. If you must bring your dog to the wedding, these are the rules: only one dog in the accommodation, must not be left alone in the accommodation, must be on a lead at all times.
